Amazon Giving Away Apps Instead of Candy for Halloween

Happy almost Halloween, Android users. Amazon is getting into the spooky spirit by giving away some sweet treats—for your phone or tablet.

Instead of candy, Amazon is giving away 39 Halloween-friendly apps for free. The promotion lasts until Nov. 1, and includes a number of games, including: Alpha Wave ($1.25), Blocky Roads ($1.99), Braveland ($2.99), Devil’s Attorney (normally $1.99), Eufloria HD ($4.99), Eve of the Genesis ($7.99), Hidden Object—Haunted House 2 ($1.99), Knock Knock ($4.99), Sonic Hedgehog 4 Episode I ($2.99), V for Vampire ($1.99), Unstoppable ($1.99), and World of Goo (normally $4.99).

You can also get some $0.99 games for free, like: Can You Escape—Adventure, Fruit Ninja Ghostbusters, Gods VS Humans—Protect your Kingdom, Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage, and Plants vs. Zombies.

Besides games, the promotion includes some other utility productivity, photography, and reading apps that could come in handy this Halloween, like the carb counter CarbsControl ($2.99), BeFunky Photo Editor Pro ($1.99), and the Amelia and Terror of the Night children’s story book (1.58). Other highlights include Human Anatomy Atlas and Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English 5, both of which normally sell for $29.99, and the personal media organizer Plex, which is typically priced at $4.99.

Altogether, the apps would set you back $115.
